We are looking for a full-time senior family law attorney who has worked primarily or exclusively in New Hampshire probate and family court for at least 5 years. We can't hire an attorney who has minimally worked in family law or has minimally worked in New Hampshire, so please only apply if you have divorce lawyer and family law attorney experience we're seeking. Here is a bit more about the job:
Responsibilities include:
- Represent clients through a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, modifications, enforcement/contempt, name changes, guardianships, and adoptions.
- Manage a caseload, representing clients with a variety of case types and complexities from intake through resolution.
- Prepare for and appear at all case events, including court events, settlement conferences, depositions, and the like.
- Negotiate cases to fair and equitable resolutions whenever possible and taking cases to trial when reasonable settlement is unattainable.
- Develop and manage case strategy as the facts and needs of the case evolve.
- Develop discovery strategy for each case, determining evidentiary needs and the optimal timing of requests to support your case strategy.
- Perform legal research and writing.
- Draft and review court filings, discovery requests, discovery responses, and correspondence.
- Delegate to associate attorneys and paralegals with appropriate lead time and consideration.
Requirements for this Divorce & Family Law Attorney Position:
- Juris Doctorate Degree.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in New Hampshire.
- 5+ years of experience primarily handling family law matters in New Hampshire.
- A comprehensive understanding of complex financial issues arising in divorces, such as business valuations, complex compensation packages, equity interests, forensic accounting, and vocational assessments.
- A comprehensive understanding of complex child custody cases, such as removal cases and cases involving substance use disorder, mental illness, mental health disorders, and domestic violence.
- A history and willingness to take cases to trial when fair and reasonable settlement is otherwise unattainable.
- Compassion for clients going through divorces and other family law matters and a commitment to produce excellent work.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and case management skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Reliable transportation.

The Following are not Requirements but Would be Great:
- Certified Financial Litigator (CFL) designation.
- Experience litigating international cases and/or appeals.
- Experience using practice management software.
- Interest in working towards Partner.

About Turco Legal
Turco Legal is one of the largest boutique family law firms in Massachusetts, and we are now building our New Hampshire team, based in Manchester. While we have attorneys on our team licensed in New Hampshire and have handled family law matters in the state for years, this office will be a home base for our NH team.

Partners and senior attorneys may delegate work to associate attorneys at their discretion.
Our paralegal team is highly capable and experienced, and members flex to support each other as needed given the workload. Paralegals typically support 2-4 attorneys, but with a team approach, we can flex to the needs of the business.
