Full Job Description

We Provide Solutions. Patients and Physicians rely on our diagnostic testing, information, and services to help them make better healthcare decisions. These are often serious decisions with far reaching consequences, and require sensitivity, tact, and a clear dedication to service. It’s about providing clarity and hope.

In this position the Technical Sales Specialist will provide full support in the field for sales in regards to the Quest Diagnostics technology portfolio including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) interface capabilities and Quanum. Within this integral position, you will drive sales growth and promote client retention through a collaborative effort with field sales representatives by positioning the company's growing connectivity technology solutions portfolio with customers and prospects. The Technical Sales Specialist will also act as the voice of the customer by listening to needs for product enhancements and providing critical feedback to the Product Marketing and Development teams within the organization. This position will be involved in converting clients who are ordering laboratory tests manually to electronic ordering.

This is a field-based position. The territory encompasses Northern California.

Pay range: $125,000-$135,000, plus yearly bonus

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Become the expert on our connectivity solutions including our Quanum online client portal and EMR/LIS interfaces. Provide consultative support to ensure optimal placement and utilization of our solutions.
Support the e-Requisition initiative as the Quest/client sales person to convert manual requisitions to eReqs.
Develop a consultative and advisory relationship with key customers for their information technology needs.
Subject matter expert around topics such as Meaningful Use, EHR adoption and workflow recommendations.
Partner with IT and Sales teams to improve internal processes and drive growth of Lab revenue through the use of our technology solutions.
Resource for Sales and is responsible for training the sales team both in the field and in formal settings (sales meetings, etc).
Provide insights to sales team on leveraging technology to grow and enhance business relationships.
Acts as sales team’s point of escalation for exceptional issues pertaining to Quest Diagnostics’ technology portfolio.
Follows up with sold account to ensure proper utilization of connectivity and revenue growth in the account with an emphasis on promoting electronic orders

Required Work Experience:

3-5 years supporting healthcare technology implementations, EMR/EHR systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), healthcare informatics, healthcare IT consulting, or technical sales support.
Proven ability to work independently in a cross-functional, matrix environment and collaborate with multiple levels and functions in the organization
Demonstrated experience with physician office workflows, EMR optimization, electronic ordering, or healthcare interoperability.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOPUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation.
Experience presenting technical solutions to physicians, practice administrators, IT leaders, and healthcare executives
Experience training end users and conducting customer-facing presentations.
Prior experience supporting field sales organizations, account management teams, or customer success inititatives preferred.

Skills:

Strong planning and organizational skills
Able to demonstrate solid communication skills, both oral and written.
strong customer orientation ability to use basic selling skills and techniques.
Solid PC skills including Microsoft Software.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree Emphasis in IT, Life Sciences or Marketing (Preferred)

Valid driver’s license (Required)
