About This Role

The Bookkeeper is a high-impact, analytical role designed for a financial operations strategist who excels at the critical intersection of accounting accuracy and system optimization.

At RCS, we don’t just “enter data”—we are a systems-driven, process-oriented team committed to building clean, scalable financial operations. As a Bookkeeper, you are the primary guardian of our internal financial foundation, tasked with managing day-to-day bookkeeping workflows and deconstructing manual inefficiencies. You will take direct ownership of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client invoicing, while spearheading our critical operational transition from legacy Google Sheets into QuickBooks Online alongside our Fractional CFO.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Fractional CFO and Company Leadership, the Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping operations of the company.

As a Bookkeeper at RCS, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our organization by maintaining accurate records, performing detailed account reconciliations, and streamlining administrative expense processes. You will be responsible for processing client invoices, managing cash flow applications, and collaborating with our outsourced payroll provider to optimize internal workflows.

This position is fully remote.

Flexible hours. Create your own daily work days. Must be within operating hours of 7am to 7pm EST.

Responsibilities:

Educate and promote RCS’s 3 objectives
Attend scheduled cadence calls with Company Leadership and the Fractional CFO to review financial workflows and administrative bottlenecks.
Work together as a team to resolve processing and system migration barriers.
Perform all assigned accounts payable and accounts receivable functions daily.
Manage the monthly client invoicing cycle and verify all payment applications are resolved in a timely manner.
Perform full monthly bank and credit card reconciliations within QuickBooks Online.
Process employee expense reimbursements timely and accurately through Zoho Expense.
Coordinate directly with outsourced payroll providers for data processing and ledger verification.
Support the core data migration out of legacy Google Sheets into QuickBooks Online.
Maintain highly organized, secure, and systematic vendor, customer, and financial files.
Provide clear feedback on operational constraints and accounting system opportunities to leadership.
Log PDS daily and accurately according to company task tracking requirements.

Requirement:

Bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations experience: 4+ years (Required)

Current or most recent professional role held must be inside bookkeeping or accounting (Required)
Must be a United States citizen: (Required)
Experienced with operational specialties:
Corporate accounting system migrations or process builds: 1 year (Preferred)
Zoho Expense or similar corporate expense tracking software: 1 year (Preferred)
Healthcare, medical billing, or service-based business environments: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week

Schedule:

Approximately 25 hours per week
Monday to Friday
Choose your own hours within operating window (7AM-7PM EST)
Increased workload required during core monthly invoicing periods (typically the 5th–15th of each month)
