Full Job Description

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) systems are co-located on dairy farms. Manure from these farms is continually processed to produce biogas, reducing the carbon emissions of manure by 90-99%. The biogas is refined into renewable natural gas.

RNG mechanical technicians (Millwright) are responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance. Maintenance personnel will be assigned to a group of ROC sites; from time to time, maintenance may be required to support ROC operations at more distant locations.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Multi-Craft Technician will perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance, repair equipment as necessary, and troubleshoot issues as they arise while coordinating with co-workers and business partners. Objectives for this position include safety, compliance with applicable regulations, maximizing renewable energy production, supporting ROC operational systems, equipment, and team members as trained & directed, including:

· Understand, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, compressors, valves, tanks, centrifuges, blowers, and other processing equipment.

· Work safely at all times, following company/state/federal safety guidelines.

· Remain current with ROC policies and procedures, including Employee Action Plan, Fire Plan, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures.

· Perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance for all mechanical equipment & systems and record findings in CMMS

· Communicate with managers to ensure effective participation in implementing mechanical and safety policies and procedures.

· Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness, fire protection, safety, preservation, and environmental compliance.

· On-Call, and respond to site needs as quickly as possible. Repair and return the system to production capacity.

· Assist operations during plant upsets and troubleshooting.

· Leave the site in good order, with no debris, tools, or materials left.

· Return unused equipment and parts to stock at the site or warehouse, and update the CMMS system per inventory management guidelines.

Applicable Knowledge/Qualifications/Skills:

· Experience in the troubleshooting and repair of pumps, compressors, valves, tanks, centrifuges, blowers, and other basic processing equipment.

· Understand the basic concepts of heat transfer, fluid flow dynamics, pressure, vacuum, temperature, levels, and pH.

· Experience in utilizing hand/power tools, lifting and rigging equipment, and mobile equipment, including but not limited to scissor lifts, man lifts, fork trucks, and lulls.

· Adaptable and flexible to change and integrate with company concepts and policies.

· Follow written and verbal instructions.

· Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and vendors

· Ability to work from engineering drawings and operational manuals to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues.

· Ability to work independently or as a team to analyze problems, develop solutions, and make or recommend sound alternatives

· Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working internal and external relationships

· Knowledge of various software applications, including Word and Excel

· Candidates with extensive industrial HVAC experience are encouraged to apply.

Basic Training/Experience/Education:

· Communicate information effectively in a one-on-one or small group setting to plant employees or outside vendors.

· Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and safe work practices is beneficial.

· Be creative, self-motivated, organized, and quality and customer service oriented.

· Must show a mechanical knowledge base both through written and practical applications.

· Must be knowledgeable of and comply with OSHA safety regulations, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout; Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Bloodborne Pathogens, Ladders, and Emergency Action Plans.

· Maintain dependable transportation and a valid state-issued driver's license.

· High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

· Perform work outside, in varying weather conditions, and with possible exposure to leaks of hazardous chemicals.

· Enter and exit confined spaces following established procedures.

· Effectively handle lifting of various objects up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift objects (over 50 lbs.) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

· Work will be performed near moving mechanical parts.

· Possible exposure to high noise levels.

· Must be available during emergencies or unexpected maintenance events. Must be able to be on-call for night and weekend work as scheduled.
