Full Job Description

Medical Radiologic Technologist - Outpatient Radiology

Syracuse, NY

Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging in a patient-focused outpatient setting where your technical expertise and compassionate care make a direct impact every day.

Must-Haves

Associate's Degree in Medical Radiography

Current ARRT certification and registration

Active licensure as required by the state

Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Additional certification may be required depending on specialty area

Preferred Qualifications

New Rad Tech graduates are welcome to apply

One to two years of radiologic technologist experience preferred

Experience in an outpatient radiology setting is a plus

Familiarity with OR imaging and C-arm procedures preferred

What You'll Do

You'll perform general radiography, DEXA, and C-arm procedures in the OR, ensuring every patient receives accurate, high-quality diagnostic imaging in a comfortable, professional environment. Your work will support efficient patient flow while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

You'll accurately review and interpret physician orders, preparing patients for procedures by positioning them correctly and using immobilization devices as needed. Operating radiology equipment with precision, you'll adjust exposure settings to capture diagnostic-quality images and review each image for technical quality and completeness before submission.

Radiation safety is central to your role. You'll follow ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure through proper collimation, shielding, and exposure techniques, while maintaining knowledge of sterile technique when working with the C-arm in the operating room.

You'll demonstrate working knowledge of PACS, RIS, and EMS systems, ensuring seamless integration with department workflows. Your responsibilities include monitoring radiology equipment for proper performance, performing quality assurance checks, and coordinating repairs or maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines.

As a collaborative team member, you'll clean and restock assigned work areas, support your colleagues, and contribute to a department culture focused on efficiency, quality, and exceptional patient care.

Schedule & Compensation

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

$29.80 - $43.93 per hour ($61,984 - $91,374 annually)

No nights, no weekends, allowing for genuine work-life balance
