Full Job Description

Construction Estimator

SUMMARY

David Allen Company is seeking an Estimator to join the Raleigh, North Carolina Team. A member of the preconstruction/estimating team who is responsible for independently preparing schematic, design development and construction document estimates including evaluating scopes of work, preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, reviewing project plans and specifications for Tile, Terrazzo, Stone, and other flooring work for large commercial projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to):

· Performs accurate, thorough, and timely quantity takeoffs (schematic, design development, construction documents)

· Develops accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions for bidding.

· Obtains clarifications on plans and specs from the design team when necessary.

· Solicits and analyzes vendor pricing.

· Attends project pre-bid meetings and post-bid interviews as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor of Science is preferred. Associates Degree or 2 years relative work experience.

· Ability to read construction drawings

· Assist. project Manger or field experience is preferred

· Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word

· Team Player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

· Detail Oriented with excellent time management skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
