JB York Construction, Inc. is hiring experienced and motivated Carpenter/Laborers to join our team serving the Galveston and Greater Houston area.
For nearly 20 years, York Construction has built a reputation for successfully completing complex renovations in occupied facilities. We specialize in challenging commercial construction projects where quality, safety, communication, and attention to detail matter most.

What You'll Do
As a Carpenter/Laborer, you'll be an important part of our field team, performing a variety of commercial construction tasks including:
- General carpentry
- Framing
- Drywall installation and repairs
- Ceiling grid and ceiling tile installation
- Door, frame, and hardware installation
- Demolition
- Concrete patching and minor formwork
- Jobsite cleanup and material handling
- Operating hand and power tools
- Assisting foremen and superintendents with daily project activities
- Working safely in occupied buildings while maintaining a clean, professional jobsite
Every day is different, and you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that require problem-solving, craftsmanship, and teamwork.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial construction, carpentry, or general labor
- Reliable transportation to projects in the Galveston/Houston area
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including overtime when needed
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to pass Background Checks & Drug Tests.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial renovations
- Experience working in hospitals, schools, laboratories, or occupied facilities
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred but not required)
- Ability to read basic construction drawings
- Experience operating construction equipment and power tools
