Full Job Description

Pelister Park The Venue is seeking an experienced Banquet Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume banquet environment and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality food.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and works well as part of a team. You will work alongside the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to prepare and execute weddings, corporate events, and private functions while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for banquet and catered events, including vegetables, proteins, sauces, starches, and desserts.
Assist with production for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.
Follow standardized recipes and portion specifications to ensure consistency.
Assist with banquet setup, plating, and event execution.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
Properly label, rotate, and store food in accordance with food safety standards.
Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, and minimizing food waste.
Work efficiently as part of a team while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
Assist with kitchen cleaning and closing duties.
Perform other kitchen responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of professional kitchen experience preferred.
Banquet, catering, hotel, country club, or high-volume production experience is a plus.
Strong knife skills and food preparation experience.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.

Compensation & Benefits

$25.00 per hour.
Full-time position.
