Technician / Team Lead – New Quick Lube Opening in Central Massachusetts

Location: Spencer / Leicester / Worcester, MA area
Start Date: August 2026

Are you an experienced automotive service professional who takes pride in quality work, enjoys helping customers, and is ready to take on additional leadership responsibility? We are hiring a Technician / Team Lead for a brand-new express oil change shop opening in Central Massachusetts.

This is an opportunity to join a locally owned business at the ground level and help shape the shop’s culture, service standards, and reputation. The Technician / Team Lead will work alongside the Store Manager and other technicians to ensure vehicles are serviced safely, accurately, and efficiently.

This is a hands-on position. You will perform oil-change services, support and guide other technicians, help maintain an efficient workflow, and set a strong example for customer service, safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Prior quick-lube, automotive service, or customer-facing experience is preferred. We can teach our systems and processes, but we are looking for someone who already demonstrates reliability, sound judgment, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to doing quality work.

What You’ll Do

Perform oil changes and related preventive-maintenance services
Drain and replace motor oil and oil filters
Check and top off vehicle fluids
Inspect and adjust tire pressure
Inspect air filters, cabin air filters, and wiper blades
Recommend appropriate services clearly and honestly
Build trusting relationships with customers
Answer customer questions professionally
Support technicians throughout each shift
Help organize workflow and maintain efficient service times
Verify that services are completed safely and accurately
Help train new technicians on company procedures and service standards
Reinforce safety requirements and proper shop practices
Assist with opening or closing responsibilities when assigned
Monitor supplies and notify management when inventory is running low
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop
Support sales goals without using high-pressure tactics
Assist the Store Manager with other operational responsibilities as needed

Customer interaction is a core part of this position. You are not only working on vehicles—you are representing the business every time you speak with a customer. We are looking for someone who is friendly, confident, trustworthy, and capable of setting a positive example for the rest of the team.

What We’re Looking For

Prior experience in quick-lube, oil-change, automotive service, retail, or a similar customer-facing environment
Previous team-lead or training experience is preferred
Strong customer-service and communication skills
Ability to provide direction, support coworkers, and set a positive example
Reliable transportation and a consistent record of attendance and punctuality
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Comfort working in a hands-on, fast-paced shop environment
Willingness to work alongside the team and assist wherever needed
Ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and work in varying temperatures
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver’s license preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Quick-lube or oil-change experience
Automotive maintenance or repair experience
Retail sales or customer-service experience
Experience training or supporting other employees
Familiarity with inventory, point-of-sale systems, or cash handling
A genuine interest in people, machines, cars, and trucks

Physical and Work Environment

Standing and moving for most of the shift in an active automotive shop
Regular lifting, bending, crouching, and hands-on work
Exposure to varying temperatures, moderate noise, vehicle exhaust, oil, and automotive fluids
Fast-paced environment where teamwork, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential
Willingness to assist in all areas of the operation when needed
