Full Job Description

Accounts Payable Assistant– Commercial Pine Straw 

Commercial Pine Straw is a family-owned business in the landscaping industry seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to help manage the accounts payable process and ensure timely invoice processing. This position does not require previous experience as an Accounts Payable professional. If you are a team player, a problem solver, have a good attitude, and are willing to learn and grow, this may be the position for you. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

This person will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations by handling variety of tasks related to the Accounts Payable; from verifying invoices and managing vendor profiles to preparing payments.
This is a full-time position. General office schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, with some Saturday work during the busy spring season (March-May).

The office is small and friendly with a casual atmosphere.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):  

Accurately process invoices, ensuring proper coding and adherence to company policies.
Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
Maintain organized records and files to support the accounting team's operations across multiple departments.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal team members regarding payment inquiries.
Perform other related duties assigned by the accountant to meet ongoing needs of the organization.
Assist with answering phone calls from a shared office phone line.

REQUIREMENTS:  

Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal communication, with staff and vendors. 
Ability to work in a team and a willingness to help others. 
A great attitude and a willingness to learn new things. 
Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365 is essential. 
Knowledge and experience working with QuickBooks is preferred but not required. 
An ability to work independently and as a team to identify problems and brainstorm how to overcome them. 
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. 
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. 
Reliable transportation is required. Work is primarily in-office at a location near the Raleigh fairgrounds.
