Full Job Description

Job Summary
Join our dynamic finance team as a controller. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable/receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Your expertise in financial concepts and accounting software will be essential in supporting our corporate accounting functions. What you’ll do

Verify all incoming invoices from vendors are entered correctly in Appfolio and work with the bookkeeping team to ensure payments are processed in accordance with company standards.
Prepare and process payments payment batches for review and approval by Accounting Director/CEO.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions and historical documents.
Reconcile vendor statements and accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure all payments and processes comply with company policies and accounting standards.
Maintain good relationships with vendors/tenants/owners and resolve payment-related queries.
Generate financial reports related to accounts payable as needed.
Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as required by management.

Required qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.
At least 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (including creating and managing spreadsheets) is essential.
Organization and Time Management: The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment is important.
Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills are required for interacting with vendors, management, and other departments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Integrity: Honesty and discretion are necessary due to the handling of confidential financial information.
