Reports to Plant Engineer
Position Summary
The Quality Technician’s primary responsibility is performing routine quality testing and making changes to the system based on test results. This will involve hands-on work including performing titrations, checking the pH of various tanks, water analysis collecting samples, and data entry into computer programs both inside and outside of a laboratory environment. In addition, the individual will be responsible for maintaining our ISO 9001:2015 certification. This position will drive continuous improvement within the ISO framework. It will also involve various housekeeping duties both inside and outside the laboratory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Collect samples from various locations inside the facility for analysis inside the laboratory.
· Use laboratory equipment to perform simple titrations using chemicals.
· Use various meters to perform water quality analysis.
· Adjust chemical feed rates and manually add chemicals as needed based on test results.
· Move and replace 55-gallon drums of chemicals using a hand truck.
· Document all results and changes associated with the quality of the final product.
· Perform housekeeping tasks both inside and outside the laboratory.
· Calibrate instruments on a routine basis using prescribed methods.
· Inspect final paint finish on parts for acceptable quality before shipping to customer.
· Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and recurring needs.
· Maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification by driving Management Review Meetings, Surveillance Audits, Internal Audits, and Corrective Actions along with all record keeping.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Provides back-up support to other departments to cover absences as needed.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
The preferred skills are outlined below. The required skills and attributes are noted as such:
· A valid driver’s license is required.
· A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
· A familiarity with basic computer programs (Excel, Word, etc.) is required.
· Experience in a professional laboratory environment is preferred.
· At least 1 year in a quality related manufacturing role is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

· The production floor is not temperature controlled, although laboratory, break, and office spaces are.
· The Quality Technician must be able to lift 50 pounds.
