Job Overview

5 O'Clock Concepts, a Delaware restaurant & hospitality group, is seeking an energetic and highly skilled Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu planning and food preparation to team management and food safety compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for fine dining, extensive culinary expertise, and proven leadership skills to inspire excellence in every dish served. As the Head Chef, you will drive innovation, maintain high standards of quality, and ensure a seamless food service operation that delights our guests and upholds our reputation for culinary excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement
Develop innovative menus that align with brand standards, customer preferences, and dietary requirements while maintaining cost control
Oversee food production processes, ensuring high-quality food preparation, presentation, and consistency across all dishes
Manage inventory control and ordering to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure availability of ingredients for daily operations
Enforce strict food safety sanitizing procedures, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations to guarantee guest safety
Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with precision planning and execution to exceed client expectations
Monitor kitchen performance during shifts, manage staffing schedules, and oversee training programs to enhance team skills in food handling, cooking techniques, and service standards

Experience

Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining environments
Proven supervisory experience managing kitchen staff in a fast-paced setting
Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food production, and catering operations
Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control strategies within the food industry
Knowledge of food safety protocols including sanitizing procedures and proper handling practices
Experience overseeing banquet services, dietary departments, or large-scale food service operations is highly desirable
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage shifts effectively, and uphold high standards of hospitality and service excellence

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
