Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Director of Operations is the senior operational leader at Radius Executive IT Solutions, responsible for owning service delivery end to end and for the performance, capability, and consistency of the technical service team. This role leads the service desk and field technicians, controls dispatch and scheduling, and sets and enforces the process and documentation standards that keep service delivery reliable and repeatable.

Operating across a diverse managed services portfolio that includes healthcare and residential client environments, the Director of Operations ensures that work is triaged, prioritized, and resolved to standard, that clients experience fast and professional service, and that the service organization runs efficiently and profitably. This role bridges day-to-day operational execution with team development, driving continuous improvement across process, training, and service quality.

The Director of Operations reports directly to the Owner and Principal, carries full authority over team staffing including hiring and terminations, and serves as the senior point of escalation for client service issues. This role does not carry vendor or procurement responsibility.

Duties

Service Delivery & Dispatch

· Own the full-service delivery lifecycle, from ticket intake through resolution, ensuring work is triaged, prioritized, and completed to standard.

· Manage dispatch and daily assignment of work across the service desk and field technicians to balance workload, urgency, and client priority.

· Monitor queues, response and resolution times, and aging tickets, and intervene to keep service levels on target.

· Ensure accurate and timely time entry and documentation on all tickets and service records in HaloPSA.

Team Leadership & Scheduling

· Lead, coach, and hold accountable the service desk and field technician team as their direct manager.

· Build and maintain technician schedules, including on-call and coverage, to meet client needs and business hours.

· Set individual and team performance expectations, conduct regular one-on-ones, reviews, and manage performance issues directly.

· Foster a culture of ownership, follow-through, and professional client communication.

Staff Education & Training

· Own the onboarding and ramp of new technical staff, ensuring they become productive and aligned to REITS standards quickly.

· Identify skill gaps across the team and build training plans that keep technicians current on the REITS tool stack and relevant technologies.

· Develop and maintain internal training materials, runbooks, and reference documentation for common systems and procedures.

Process & SOP Ownership

· Own the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of standard operating procedures across the service organization.

· Standardize how work is documented, escalated, and handed off so that service delivery is consistent and repeatable regardless of who performs it.

· Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and implementing fixes.

· Ensure change management and documentation practices are followed consistently across internal and client environments.

Client Escalation Management

· Serve as the senior point of escalation for client service issues, taking ownership of high-severity and high-visibility situations.

· Coordinate the response to major incidents and outages, keeping affected clients informed through resolution.

· Maintain strong working relationships with key client contacts and act as an operational point of trust and accountability.

Financial & Billing Oversight

· Own the financial performance of service delivery, including labor utilization, efficiency, and the profitability of service work.

· Oversee accurate and timely billing for service work, ensuring time entries and billable activity are captured, reviewed, and reconciled.

· Review service delivery costs and identify opportunities to improve margin without compromising service quality.

· Provide the Owner and Principal with reporting and visibility into the operational and financial health of the service organization.

Staffing & Team Management

· Own hiring for the service delivery team, including sourcing, interviewing, and final selection of technical staff.

· Make and execute termination decisions for the team, in coordination with the Owner and Principal, and manage the associated transitions.

Interim Project Management

· Provide interim project management oversight for strategic client and internal initiatives, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with company objectives.

· Coordinate project planning, resource allocation, vendor communications, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution and timely completion of deliverables.

· Monitor project milestones, budgets, risks, and client communications, providing regular status updates to leadership while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

· Proven experience leading a technical service delivery team, ideally within a managed service provider or comparable multi-client IT services environment.

· Strong background in service desk and field operations, including dispatch, scheduling, and queue and SLA management.

· Demonstrated people-management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and terminations.

· Hands-on familiarity with a modern MSP tool stack, including PSA and RMM platforms, endpoint security, identity and device management, and remote support tooling.

· Track record of building and enforcing process and documentation standards that improve consistency and quality.

· Financial and business acumen sufficient to own service delivery profitability, labor utilization, and billing accuracy.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to own client escalations calmly and professionally under pressure.

· Ability to work on-site in Andover, MA, and to support the responsiveness the role demands.

Preferred

· Direct experience with the REITS tool stack, including HaloPSA, N-central, Microsoft Intune and Entra ID, Bitdefender GravityZone, Huntress, and ScreenConnect.

· Experience supporting regulated environments, such as healthcare and HIPAA-aligned clients.

· Background progressing from a hands-on technical role into service delivery leadership.

· Relevant industry or vendor certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL, or equivalent).
