ARRO Construction is a growing Austin-based general contracting and remodeling company specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, full-home renovations, and commercial improvement projects.
We are seeking a creative, motivated, and entrepreneurial Interior Designer to join us on a flexible, project-based basis.
This opportunity is ideal for an interior designer who currently freelances, provides design services independently, is starting their own design business, or wants to grow alongside an established construction company.
You should be creative, organized, confident with clients, and comfortable moving between design concepts, finish selections, budgeting, presentations, and jobsite coordination.
You will work directly with ARRO Construction to provide clients with a complete design-build experience. Together, we will help clients develop their vision, select materials, establish realistic budgets, and carry the project through construction.
This is not intended to remain a temporary freelance position forever. Our goal is to find the right person, build a strong working relationship, and eventually transition the position into a full-time salaried role as the design side of the company grows.
Details
Hours: Part-Time and Flexible
Location: Austin, Texas — Local Candidates Only
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, including remote design work, client meetings, showroom visits, vendor visits, and jobsite visits
Employment Type: Initially project-based or independent contractor, with a path toward full-time employment
Compensation: Project-based compensation with profit-sharing opportunities
Future Salary Potential: Approximately $50,000 annually as the position develops into a consistent full-time role, with the possibility of additional profit sharing
The Opportunity
This position is designed as a long-term growth opportunity rather than a traditional commission-based sales role.
Initially, compensation will be based on the design services and projects assigned to the designer. Depending on the project and level of involvement, compensation may include design fees, project-based payments, and profit sharing.
As ARRO Construction brings in more design-build projects and the designer helps establish a consistent design process, the goal is to develop the position into a salaried role.
We are looking for someone who wants to help build this division—not simply complete individual assignments.
The designer will have meaningful input into:
- The services we offer
- Our design packages
- Client presentations
- Pricing and design fees
- Material-selection processes
- Design software and systems
- Marketing and sales strategies
- The type and size of projects we pursue
- The future growth of ARRO’s design-build division
We want this relationship to create a win for the designer, the construction company, and the client.

- Help prepare design proposals and presentations for prospective clients
- Assist with sales by clearly communicating the value of a complete design-build service
