About the Position

Sun City Texas, a vibrant active adult community in Georgetown, Texas, offers an array of exceptional amenities to its 17,000+ residents. With three scenic golf courses, four fully equipped fitness centers, eight inviting pools, tennis courts, nature trails, and pickleball, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Beyond these facilities, residents can participate in more than 50 clubs and interest groups, ranging from visual arts and photography to woodworking and gardening. The Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Manager in overseeing the company's financial records, generating financial reports, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards for both the Community Association (CA) and the Chartered Clubs/Neighborhoods (CC/N).

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Staff Accountant will:

Prepare monthly account reconciliations for various accounts for CA and CC/N.
Prepare and record various journal entries for month end close for CA and CC/N.
Manage Prepaid accounting and reconciliation
Assist with Asset entries and management
Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for CA.
Process physical deposits for CCN.
Assist in the annual external and internal audits.
Assist in preparation of monthly financial results for CA and CC/N.
Research and address financials questions for CC/N.
Distribute financial reports to Directors and some committees.
Process monthly sales tax report.
Handle Jonas new set up of club menus.
Handle annual club memberships and reconciliations.
Backup CA Billing responsibilities and reconciliations
Backup CCN daily/weekly revenue reconciliation and posting.
Collect and input budget data for CC/N.
Attend quarterly staff training lunches.
Participate in semi-annual CC/N training.

Education

An Associate degree or higher in accounting or business-related field required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
2 plus years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
A strong attention to detail, follow through, confidentiality and data integrity.
Strong Microsoft Excel experience required – Pivot Tables and Vlookups knowledge a plus.
Efficient with time management as they must meet deadlines on a regular basis.
Understanding of US GAAP and financial/accounting principles.
Good customer service a must.
10 key by touch.
