Job Overview
The Plant Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing and production operations at the plant, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality in all processes. This role is responsible for managing a team, optimizing resources, and ensuring adherence to regulations, while continuously driving improvements to meet production goals and customer satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
o Plan, organize, direct, and run daily plant operations.
o Develop production schedules to meet customer demands and maintain optimal inventory levels.
o Ensure the plant operates in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
2. Team Leadership
o Supervise and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
o Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
o Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide training and coaching for plant employees.
3. Safety and Compliance
o Enforce safety and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
o Conduct regular inspections, safety drills, and ensure adherence to all OSHA, EPA, and company-specific safety policies.
o Lead efforts to minimize accidents and promote a zero-injury workplace culture.
4. Quality Assurance
o Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure all products meet standards and specifications.
o Develop and oversee quality improvement initiatives, working closely with the quality team to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
o Address customer complaints promptly and implement corrective actions.
5. Cost and Resource Management
o Monitor and manage plant budget, including labor, materials, and equipment.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
o Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment to ensure plant operations are uninterrupted.
6. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
o Utilize lean manufacturing principles to improve plant performance and reduce waste.
o Identify areas for operational improvements and lead projects to enhance plant productivity and efficiency.
o Foster a culture of innovation and implement new processes and technologies to improve overall plant performance.
7. Reporting and Documentation
o Prepare and present operational and production reports to senior management.
o Maintain detailed records of plant performance, inventory levels, maintenance schedules, and production metrics.
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in plant management or production management within a manufacturing environment.
· Skills:
o Strong leadership and team-building skills.
o Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
o Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
o Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Strong understanding of budgeting and resource allocation.
o Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Work Environment
This role typically operates in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures. The Plant Manager may be required to work extended hours, including weekends, as production demands necessitate.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
