Pediatric Private Duty Nurse (RN/LPN) – Trach & Vent Experience Preferred

Position Summary

The Pediatric Private Duty Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive skilled nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator dependence. Nurses work independently in the home while collaborating with physicians, case managers, therapists, and families to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care in the patient's home.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring.
Care for pediatric patients with tracheostomies and mechanical ventilators.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor respiratory status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator management.
Manage enteral feedings (G-Tube/NG Tube) and medication administration.
Provide seizure precautions and emergency interventions when necessary.
Monitor oxygen therapy and pulse oximetry.
Complete accurate electronic clinical documentation during each shift.
Educate and support caregivers regarding the patient's plan of care.
Communicate changes in condition promptly to the Clinical Care Team.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Active Georgia RN or LPN License
Current CPR/BLS Certification
Current TB Screening
Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation
Ability to pass background screening
