Position Summary

Suwannee Medical Personnel is seeking compassionate, dependable, and experienced **Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses** for one-on-one school nursing assignments at various school locations throughout Cherokee County, Georgia.

Each nurse will be assigned to provide individualized nursing care and medical support to a student during the school day. The nurse will help ensure that the student can safely attend school and participate in educational activities while receiving the care required by the student’s physician orders, healthcare plan, and emergency protocols.

Available assignments and specific school locations will vary based on student needs and placement availability.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide continuous one-on-one nursing care to an assigned student during the school day.
Monitor the student’s health status and identify changes in the student’s physical, behavioral, or medical condition.
Follow physician orders, the student’s Individualized Healthcare Plan, Emergency Action Plan, and applicable school health procedures.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and on schedule.
Respond promptly to seizures, respiratory distress, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, injuries, and other medical events.
Assist with mobility, positioning, transfers, feeding, toileting, hygiene, and other health-related needs when required by the student’s care plan.
Accompany the student to classrooms, meals, therapy sessions, and approved school activities as scheduled.
Provide support during school transportation or approved field trips when included in the specific assignment.
Maintain complete and timely documentation of assessments, medications, treatments, observations, interventions, and incidents.
Communicate changes in the student’s condition to the appropriate parent or guardian, school representative, supervising nurse, healthcare provider, and Suwannee Medical Personnel representatives.
Collaborate professionally with teachers, school nurses, administrators, therapists, and other members of the student’s support team.
Protect the student’s privacy, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
Follow all Cherokee County school procedures, agency requirements, infection-control practices, and emergency-response protocols.
Perform only those nursing procedures that fall within the nurse’s authorized scope of practice and documented clinical competency.
Must have 12 months of School Nursing experience, preferable with medically fragile student populations
Active GA or compact nursing license, Active BLS, PALS, or other pertinent certifications
Ability to pass GA background and Drug Screen

Location: Various school locations throughout Cherokee County, Georgia

Schedule: Monday–Friday during regular school hours – 10-month commitment

Position Type: School-based contract assignment

Pay Rate: 37.50 LPN and 45.00 RN

Start Date: 08/03/2026 – 05/25/2027

Pay: $37.00 - $45.00 per hour
