About Motor Oil Supply

Motor Oil Supply is a locally owned Pacific Northwest distributor of automotive and commercial lubricants, filters, chemicals, equipment, and related products. Since 1979, we have built our business around long-term customer relationships, exceptional service, quality products, and knowledgeable employees.

As part of the continued growth and modernization of our sales organization, we are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative – Automotive Lubricants (PCMO) to manage, develop, and expand an established Western Washington territory.

The Opportunity

This is a relationship-driven B2B sales position focused primarily on the passenger car motor oil (PCMO) and automotive service markets.

The successful candidate will inherit existing customer relationships while also being expected to actively develop new business, expand product penetration within current accounts, and build a strong pipeline of prospective customers.

Independent automotive repair shops
Automotive dealerships
Quick-lube and preventative maintenance facilities
Tire and automotive service centers
Automotive groups and multi-location operators
Other businesses operating or servicing passenger and light-duty vehicles

We are looking for someone who approaches sales as a business partnership—not simply a pricing exercise. Our strongest salespeople understand their customers' operations, identify opportunities to improve their businesses, and develop long-term relationships based on service, expertise, reliability, and value.

Products & Solutions

Motor Oil Supply offers customers a broad portfolio that includes:

Passenger car motor oils
Synthetic and synthetic-blend lubricants
Automatic transmission fluids
Gear oils and driveline lubricants
Coolants and antifreeze
Greases
Automotive and shop chemicals
Oil, air, cabin, fuel, and other filters
Wiper blades
Shop supplies
Bulk lubricant storage systems
Tanks, pumps, reels, and fluid-management equipment
Equipment installation and service
Additional automotive products and services as our portfolio continues to expand

Major oil company brands include: Phillips 66, Castrol, Service Pro, and Idemitsu.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow an established portfolio of automotive customers
Prospect for and acquire new customers throughout the assigned territory
Develop strong relationships with owners, managers, service departments, parts departments, and other customer decision-makers
Maintain an active pipeline of new business opportunities
Identify opportunities to expand existing customers into additional MOS product categories
Conduct regular in-person customer visits
Develop lubricant and product recommendations based on customer applications and requirements
Coordinate product conversions and new customer installations
Work collaboratively with supplier representatives on joint sales opportunities
Participate in supplier programs, promotions, training, etc.
Prepare customer proposals and pricing recommendations
Monitor sales volume, gross profit, margins, and overall account performance
Work with Sales Management to maintain competitive and financially sustainable pricing
Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity information within Odoo CRM
Stay current on OEM specifications, lubricant technology, and changes affecting the automotive service industry

Qualifications

Direct automotive or lubricant industry experience is strongly preferred. We will also consider accomplished B2B outside sales professionals with relevant industry experience and a demonstrated ability to learn technical products.

Strong candidates may have experience in:

Lubricant distribution
Automotive aftermarket sales
Automotive parts
Dealership sales or operations
Quick-lube operations
Petroleum distribution
Automotive product background
Territory sales
B2B account management

Candidates should demonstrate:

Strong relationship-building skills
Proven outside sales performance
Ability to develop new business
Professional communication and negotiation skills
Understanding of pricing, gross margin, and account profitability
Comfort using CRM and other business technology
Ability to manage a territory independently
Strong organizational and follow-up skills
Collaborative, team-oriented approach
