Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. As a Director, you will inspire and manage caregiving staff, develop care strategies, and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. Your leadership will directly impact residents’ quality of life and foster a compassionate, efficient, and compliant care setting.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise nursing staff across various shifts, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical and emotional needs.
Oversee documentation review to ensure accuracy in medical records, care plans, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage staffing schedules and shift management to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing resource utilization.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care including assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care services.
Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations such as Medicare requirements and HIPAA privacy standards.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient documentation and reporting.
Oversee MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support resident care quality and reimbursement processes.
Monitor clinical performance metrics to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Foster a culture of leadership by supervising nursing management staff and supporting their professional development.

Qualifications

Proven experience in nursing home administration or healthcare management with supervising experience in a similar setting.
Extensive knowledge of assisted living facilities, home health services, hospice care, and acute care environments.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care planning processes.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance in handling medical information.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively while motivating teams.
Experience managing Medicare-related processes including reimbursement procedures.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
