Westwood Design, Inc. is an established custom cabinetry and woodworking company serving the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in designing and manufacturing high-quality custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for residential and commercial projects.
We're seeking an experienced Cabinet Designer / Drafter who enjoys seeing projects through from design to production. This is more than a drafting position—you'll play an integral role in project coordination by preparing production drawings, generating cut lists, ordering materials, and working closely with vendors, project managers, and our production team to ensure each project is completed accurately and efficiently.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in San Jose, California. Candidates must be able to work on-site daily. Remote, hybrid, and relocation sponsorship are not available for this role at this time.

What You'll Do
- Create detailed production-ready cabinet shop drawings using cabinetry design software.
- Interpret architectural plans, field measurements, and project specifications.
- Prepare accurate cut lists and production documentation.
- Order project-specific materials and supplies.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Collaborate with project managers, shop personnel, and installers throughout each project.
- Review drawings, material lists, and purchase requirements for accuracy prior to production.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedules and deadlines.
- Help identify opportunities to improve workflow and production efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in cabinet drafting or cabinet design.
- Experience using cabinetry design software (Cabinet Vision, CabintWare, Microvellum, Mozaik, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar).
- Experience creating production-ready cabinet shop drawings.
- Strong understanding of custom cabinetry construction methods and manufacturing processes.
- Experience preparing cut lists, material lists, and production documentation.
- Experience ordering project materials and coordinating with vendors.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with office staff, vendors, and shop personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
