General Manager

Swahili Village Bar & Restaurant – Beltsville, MD

Lead One of the Most Exciting African Dining Concepts in the Country

Swahili Village Bar & Restaurant is seeking a passionate, results-driven General Manager to lead our flagship Beltsville location. This is an opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about developing people, driving profitability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, lead a diverse team, and ensure every guest experiences the culture, hospitality, and excellence that define the Swahili Village brand.

What You'll Do

Lead all front and back of house operations
Recruit, train, coach, and develop management and hourly team members
Drive sales growth while maintaining profitability
Manage labor, food cost, and controllable expenses to achieve financial goals
Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns professionally
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety
Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Analyze P&L statements and use key performance indicators to improve business performance
Execute company initiatives and operational standards
Partner with corporate leadership to achieve strategic goals

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of General Manager experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant
Proven leadership experience managing large teams
Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor, food cost, inventory, and P&L management
Demonstrated success in hiring, training, and developing talent
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands
ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office
