Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Mobile Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and machinery. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with diverse industrial, construction, and farm machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. As a Heavy Mobile Mechanic, you will be at the forefront of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our projects and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, tractors, forklifts, and other industrial machinery using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals.
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, transmission work, hydraulic system servicing, suspension adjustments, and air brake inspections.
Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure equipment longevity.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on heavy machinery and automotive components utilizing automotive diagnostics skills.
Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes or during repair procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and repair documentation to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications.
Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery parts during repairs or upgrades while demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge.

Requirements

Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy mobile equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, suspension, and diesel engines.
Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex issues on excavators, cranes, tractors-trailers, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools required for equipment repair.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during inspections or repairs.
Experience working with OEM parts and understanding factory specifications for vehicle maintenance.
Knowledge of tire service procedures and alignment techniques for heavy vehicles.
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repair needs or technical issues.
