Full Job Description

RipplePHX is a small, but mighty nonprofit in Phoenix, AZ. We are innovative, fast-paced, demanding and our goal is to address today’s HIV virus through impact-focused splashes of awareness, love, and celebrations of individual sexual expression as a back-to-grass-roots project created for our LGBTQ+ community. Our team works each week to empower our community to create their ripple by becoming informed, sharing knowledge, and embracing at least one tool to help stop the spread of HIV.

This position will help grow RipplePHX’s PrEP program by expanding access, meeting monthly goals, strengthening PrEP pathways, identifying gaps and barriers, developing relationships with community providers and partners, and finding new ways to access PrEP. The goal is simple: create more pathways, remove more barriers, and get more folks on PrEP.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

PrEP

·Educate and engage clients about PrEP and the prevention options available to them.
Assess each client’s needs and connect them to the most appropriate PrEP pathways based on their preferences, insurance coverage, location, financial needs, and other circumstances.
Navigate clients through RipplePHX’s established PrEP pathways.
Coordinate and drive completion of required steps, including appointments, labs, insurance, or assistance programs, pharmacy coordination, and other requirements.
Facilitate warm handoffs to providers, pharmacies, and community partners and confirm successful connection.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve barriers that could delay or prevent access to PrEP.
Own the navigation process from initial PrEP interest through successful connection – ensuring no client falls through the cracks.

Follow-Up and Follow-Through

Maintain consistent, proactive client contact through phone, text, and other approved communication methods.
Track each client’s progress through the PrEP process and identify the next action required.
Address missed appointments, incomplete requirements, unanswered referrals, and other delays through proactive follow-up.
Re-engage individuals who have stopped responding or fallen out of the PrEP process.
Monitor outstanding referrals through completion and confirm successful connection to PrEP services.

Grow our PrEP Program

Work toward established monthly PrEP navigation and enrollment goals.
Research and identify additional PrEP providers, programs, pharmacies, assistance programs, and access options.
Develop and maintain relationships with PrEP providers and community partners.
Bring forward ideas for reaching people who may benefit from PrEP but are not currently connected to services.
Become a RipplePHX Subject Matter Expert on PrEP access and navigation.

Community Outreach

Approximately one day a week will be dedicated to community outreach.
Be outgoing, enthusiastic, and sex-positive while approaching community members in a variety of outreach settings.
Engage with a spirit of finding sexual health solutions tailored to individual’s needs, pleasures and kinks.
Connect community members with PrEP, HIV testing, and other appropriate services.

MUST HAVE

Enthusiasm and Passion for doing challenging work.
Bilingual – able to speak, read, and write both English and Spanish.
Knowledge of HIV, including Prevention, Treatment and Testing.
Strong follow-up skills – not letting things fall through the cracks.
The will and commitment to make HIV services accessible to the people who don't typically seek services on their own.
A flexible schedule, typical schedule would be 4 weekdays from 1pm to 9pm, and one outreach event typically on Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening.
Willingness to learn and be curious.
Access to your own, reliable vehicle – Valid Driver’s License and Valid Car Insurance.
High School Diploma.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to actively participate at both indoor and mostly outdoor events for 6+ hours year-round, approximately one time per week.
