Where You Will Work
Globe-Miami, AZ — Our Miami smelter & rod plant is approximately 90 miles east of Phoenix, processing copper concentrate primarily from Arizona copper mines & serving as a major source of sulphuric acid for North American leaching operations. The historic Globe-Miami mining district offers natural beauty, outdoor recreation & rich mining heritage, while the Tri-Town area of Globe, Claypool & Miami provides convenient shopping, restaurants, parks & other amenities.
What You Will Do
- Install, remove, repair & troubleshoot electrical components, systems & equipment
- Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics & systems/process optimization
- Complete routine & non-routine electrical repairs, maintenance & construction safely
- Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical & instrumentation equipment including substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, motors, motor controls, process controls, instrumentation & pneumatic equipment
- Troubleshoot & maintain AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, control systems, field transmitters/transducers & weigh scales
- Work with low & medium voltage electrical equipment & power distribution systems
- Perform electrical installations & renovations in compliance with regulatory standards
- Read & interpret technical manuals, electrical prints, schematics & related documentation
- Follow SOPs & work-area instructions while maintaining high safety & environmental standards
- Mentor or train other electrical personnel as needed
What You Bring
- Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program OR
- 4+ years of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair & maintenance experience OR
- Associate degree or trade school certification in a related field plus 2+ years of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair & maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining & repairing electrical circuits & connected equipment
- Ability to read, understand & apply technical manuals, prints & schematics
- Effective written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide required personal tools or obtain them within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated technical aptitude & ability to apply electrical knowledge and skills
- Ability to successfully complete required written assessments covering technical knowledge, skills & safety
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, HMIs & SCADA
- Low & medium voltage experience
- AC/DC controls experience
- Industrial instrumentation experience
- Experience using diagnostic electrical test equipment
- Experience with high & medium voltage power distribution systems & substations
- Bucket truck & line work experience
