Clinical & Front Desk Assistant – Pediatric & Adult Primary Care

Full-Time or Part-Time
Pre-Med, Pre-PA, and Other Pre-Health Candidates Welcome

Join Advocare Vernon Pediatric & Family Care, a family-founded, physician-owned and physician-run primary care practice that has served our community for 50 years.

We care for children and adults and believe medicine is fundamentally about relationships—with our patients, their families, our community, and one another.

We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and personable team member to support our nurses, clinical staff, and front desk. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to learn multiple aspects of primary care.

Pre-med, pre-PA, and other motivated pre-health students are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist nurses and clinical staff with appropriate support activities
Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies
Clean and restock examination rooms
Support patient flow throughout the office
Assist with appropriate patient-intake activities after training
Escort patients to examination rooms when needed
Obtain and document basic vital signs after training
Assist with basic vision and hearing screenings after training
Provide front-desk support during busy periods
Greet patients and families in a warm, professional manner
Answer telephone calls and assist with scheduling
Support patient check-in and check-out
Learn and work within our electronic medical record and other office technology
Cross-train in different clinical and administrative areas of the practice
Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and team members
Perform other duties as assigned

Clinical responsibilities will depend on the employee’s training, demonstrated competency, and all applicable scope-of-practice requirements.

Dependability and punctuality
Strong computer skills
Ability to learn quickly, accept direction, and apply feedback
Initiative and a willingness to help wherever needed
Strong teamwork and communication
Ability to remain organized in a busy environment
EMR/EHR experience is preferred but not required
Prior healthcare experience is helpful but not required for an exceptional candidate
Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required
A positive attitude and genuine interest in helping patients and families

We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.

Availability

Weekend availability is required.

Students should have reasonably consistent availability throughout the academic year and clearly describe any anticipated scheduling limitations.
