Full Job Description

Position Summary

beanSweet Coffee & Grill is looking for an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, specialty beverages, and food items while providing friendly and efficient customer service.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, can work in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming café.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare hot, iced, and frozen coffee beverages according to beanSweet recipes and standards.
Prepare specialty drinks, energy drinks, smoothies, teas, and other menu items.
Take customer orders accurately and process cash, credit/debit, and other payments.
Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and current promotions.
Keep the service area, counters, equipment, and dining areas clean and organized.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures.
Restock cups, lids, syrups, coffee, food products, and other supplies as needed.
Properly operate coffee machines, blenders, POS systems, and other café equipment.
Follow recipes and portion-control standards to ensure consistency.
Assist with food preparation and other café duties as assigned.
Monitor product freshness and report low inventory or product concerns to management.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and dress-code requirements.
Work cooperatively with other team members to maintain an efficient operation.
Perform opening and/or closing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous barista, restaurant, café, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Must have a positive and friendly attitude.
Strong communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food-safety procedures.
Must be comfortable handling cash and operating a POS system.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with café operations.
Must be willing to learn beanSweet products, recipes, and procedures.

Work Environment
