Full Job Description

Become a local representative for a fast-growing Danish technology company - get paid to network, attend industry events, connect people, and build relationships.

We are looking for a social, outgoing person to represent Consibio locally in the water and wastewater industry.

This is not a traditional sales job. Your main job is to meet people, attend local industry events, build relationships, create a great atmosphere, and help identify opportunities where Consibio might be able to help.

As a Business Development Representative for Consibio you get:

$50/hour for agreed-upon work, training, and preparation.
Flat-rate stipends for events: $250 for standard event participation and $450 for full-day trade shows/events.
Travel expenses (mileage at $0.50/mile) and reasonable costs for food and event entry are covered.
5% commission on qualified projects identified and brought to Consibio.
Flexible part-time work - activities are agreed upon in advance and can usually be planned around your schedule.

Perfect for someone who loves networking, meeting new people, attending events, and learning about new technology.

Perfect candidate:

Minimum 21 years of age
Lives within reasonable driving distance of the local market
Smart
Sociable and outgoing
Trustworthy
A good listener
Comfortable approaching and talking to new people
Good understanding of technology and/or engineering
Able to represent a company professionally
Curious and willing to learn about the water and wastewater industry

You do not need to be an engineer or have previous experience in the water industry. We will teach you what you need to know.

About the job

You will become one of Consibio's local representatives and help us build relationships within the water and wastewater industry in your area.

A typical month could include attending local industry networking events, joining a trade show, visiting an existing customer, or simply meeting someone interesting in the industry and introducing them to Consibio.

The people you meet will typically work for cities, utilities, engineering companies, and other companies involved in water and wastewater infrastructure. They can range from general managers and engineers to operators and consultants.

Your job is not to be a pushy salesperson.

Your job is to meet people, listen, learn about what they are working on, explain what Consibio does when relevant, and help create connections between potential customers and our sales team.

Sometimes that might mean discovering a project where Consibio could help. Other times it might simply mean having a good conversation and building a relationship that becomes valuable later.

You will help us:

Attend local water and wastewater association events
Participate in larger industry trade shows
Later down the road organize and host Lunch & Learn sessions
Follow up with people you meet
Introduce potential customers to the Consibio sales team
Identify interesting projects and opportunities in your local market

We will provide training, materials, support, and access to our team so you do not need to figure everything out yourself.

The position is flexible and part-time. Some months may have several activities while others may have very few.

That is why Consibio is building a network of local Business Development Representatives who can become part of these communities and represent Consibio where we cannot always be physically present ourselves.

You do not need to walk into a room and close a $100,000 deal.

You need to be the kind of person who can walk into a room where you know nobody and leave having made five new friends.
