Part-time Prep Cook Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the overall success of our venue.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
Assist in the preparation of meals according to recipes and dietary guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools.
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages.

Skills

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
