GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

As a Service Center Operator you are responsible for the operation of machinery in the Service Center department. You are responsible for the inspection of the product to ensure a quality product is being delivered to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a role model for accountability and positivity.
Set up and operation of all Service Center equipment and machines.
Quality inspection of all products slit or sheared in the department.
Maintain safe working environment by keeping assigned work area clean and organized.
Cross-train, learn and support all equipment and processes in the Service Center department.
Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to working in other departments.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

The ability to measure and record width, burr, gauge, length, squareness, flatness, and visual metal being processed.
The ability to read and record micrometer readings.
The ability to read and record caliper readings.
The ability to read and record tape measure readings.
Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally.
Ability to read, interpret and comply with company documents such as: Safety rules, work policies, procedures, operating and maintenance instructions.
Ability to follow procedures consistently and with extreme accuracy.
Strong desire to learn and the ability to apply knowledge to job tasks.
Basic computer operating skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to stand, walk, kneel and bend for extended periods of time.
Ability to reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
