Full Job Description

Purpose:

Responsible for general supervision of all company Operations, Sales and Administrative activities, with direct responsibility for Operations. The General Manager has final responsibility for company performance and profitability, including hiring/firing, and preparing and managing to a budget.

Scope:

Operations: In consultation with the Warehouse Manager, the General Manager develops the staffing requirements for hourly personnel, sets expectations of work rules and working conditions, and approves operating expenses. Annually the General Manager prepares and presents a review of the Warehouse Manager's performance and recommends appropriate compensation.

Sales: The General Manager oversees the daily activities of the Field Sales Reps and Customer Service Reps. The General Manager will work jointly with the Corporate Product Managers on strategic sales initiatives and will implement these plans. This includes developing focused product-specific and customer-specific programs, assessing outcomes, coaching sales behaviors, preparing and conducting monthly sales meetings, tertial territory reviews, and annual performance reviews with recommendations for any adjustments to compensation. The General Manager will participate in the tertial territory and annual performance reviews, and makes the final decision on special pricing requests and requests for unusual customer accommodations. The General Manager will make joint sales calls with Field Sales Reps when appropriate.

Administration: Administrative policy is largely set in Cheswick, PA. The General Manager is responsible for applying personnel policies consistently and fairly, and preparing administrative reporting needed by Cheswick staff. The General Manager sees that normal operating procedures are followed, and makes decisions to address exceptions. Monthly, the General Manager participates in a Managers' Meeting to review monthly results and an A/R meeting to review accounts with payment issues. Annually, the General Manager participates in a thorough sales and expense budgeting process for the upcoming year.

Compensation:

Base salary plus monthly commission on company gross margin.

Full Company-Paid Benefits, including healthcare coverage for Employee and dependents, and 401(k).

Company vehicle. All operating expenses, maintenance and insurance are company-paid.

Cell-phone reimbursement plan.

Reimbursement of normal business expenses, subject to monthly reporting.

Other Benefits as described in the Bennett Supply Employee Manual.

Job Type: Full-time
