Hiring Range: $26.70 - $30.05 per hour

Under direction of the Fleet Supervisor, perform Journey-Level Preventive maintenance; perform thorough visual inspections and complex technical repairs on a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to ensure safe operation of such in compliance to local, state, and federal requirements. About the Fleet Team Division:
The Fleet Services Division is responsible for the repair and maintenance of over 700 pieces of equipment that are utilized to serve our community in the areas of Public Safety, Street Maintenance, Wastewater, Water, Solid Waste, Recycling, Urban Forestry, Parks and Open Space. This is an ideal opportunity for someone dedicated to providing exemplary service who wants to be part of a diverse team that plays an important part in providing services directly to the community we live in.
What You'll Do:
- Perform a variety of duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems; install, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical timers, electronic and hydraulic valves, and controllers, diagnose and find root cause of issues in interlock, and safety systems by reading interpreting, and following wiring diagrams.
- Perform thorough diagnostic procedures on a variety of complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using visual inspections, specialized testing equipment, and critical thinking skills.
- Diagnose and repair major and minor components such as ignition, brakes, transmissions and drive train components.
- Perform wood and metal fabrication as needed for the installation of specialized equipment; determine materials needed and basic design.

What We're Looking For:
- Three (3) years of automotive and/or equipment repair experience.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.; supplemented by specialized training in preventative maintenance and routine repair of gas and diesel-powered equipment or a related field.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Colorado Class B commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement within one (1) year of employment.
- Possession of Air Conditioning Recovery and Recycle certification.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
This position is a safety-sensitive position, which means you will be subject to random drug screens due to the nature of the work performed.
