Position Summary
Responsible for all functional areas of Carpentry, but not limited to; Communication with General Trades foremen, General Trades manager, co-workers, and other sub-contractors; Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals; Must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Ability to work as part of a team/ group; Possess a willingness to learn and to be taught. Responsible for his/her own actions and conduct under the law, therefore adhering to all local, State, Federal, OSHA regulations, and company safety directives and policies.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Designs, constructs, installs, remodels, retrofits, and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, or brick.
- Designs, constructs, installs, retrofits, and repairs cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door and window frames, and other types of furniture.
- Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates, and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains building roofs.
- Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or
- One month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, building plans, details, and specifications.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to read a tape measure
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Heavy physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
- Manually lift a variety of materials, equipment, and other necessary objects.
- Carry heavy loads of material on the shoulder from a specified area to where work is being done.
- Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds
- Work in cramped areas – i.e., boom lifts and scissors lift.
- Work in awkward body positions.
- Work for long periods in air/ on steel.
- Use hands and arms fully.
- Must be agile enough to walk over voided spaces, muddy, icy, wet, slippery, and/ or uneven terrain.
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolding, or other objects and maintain balance.
- Able to access multiple levels of an unapproved building/ incomplete project.
- Tolerate heights without fear.
- Bend over for long periods of time (i.e., tying/ welding steel together, spotting clips, crimping roof, pouring concrete, etc.)
- Stoop, kneel crouch, and crawl to reach for and position reinforcing material.
- Will be required to work under adverse weather conditions.
