Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. An employee must have their own toolbox and necessary tools needed to perform this job. (The CNC Leader can instruct you on what tools are necessary to have.)

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred
3+ Years of CAD/CAM programming
3+ years of working knowledge of CNC machines
Experience running CNC Mills in a tool and die environment (Required)
Experience with small 2d details to large plates and extensive 3d form sections
Experience with Mastercam and 5 axis machining is a plus

Work Schedule

For the right candidate this position could be a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule; candidates must be willing and able to work the assigned hours. Overtime and weekends will be based off business needs.

Position Summary

Creating CNC toolpaths from cad designs using appropriate CAM software. Setup and operate the CNC equipment per the toolpaths that were previously created. Machine details to CAD or detail print targeting CAD zero.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create toolpath programs with appropriate CAM software.
Setup details and tooling required in relationship to the programs.
Inspect details prior to coming out of the machine to verify they are correct to the design and the Color Code Tolerance Sheet.
Coordinate timing with CNC Leader.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Participates in overall machining efficiency improvement efforts and waste reduction practices.
Maintain safety standards in the workplace.
Ensure Quality in the workplace.
Assist in general machine maintenance and preventative maintenance as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and enter data using a keyboard and mouse. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Fast-paced environment, usually work standard 40-hour weeks, but overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.

Work Environments

Workers split their time between the production floor and the office area. They may be required to travel to and visit a customer’s facility and/or production facility. Job requires dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol
