Full Job Description

Eastbrook Homes is one of the premier new home builders in Michigan. Over its 60-year history, it has produced some 10,000 homes throughout West and Central Michigan. Recognized for its culture, Eastbrook Homes offers a special environment for someone to expand their career and challenge their skills and abilities.

We are looking for a residential designer/draftsperson to join our team. This individual would be customizing base plans to our customers specifications to produce working drawings for our construction team. Also responsible for producing interior and exterior details.

This is a great opportunity to join an experienced team in a great environment. If you love drawing homes, you will have the ability to grow and pursue your passion.

Job Responsibilities:

Create detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and construction details, using AutoCAD software.
Modify and revise existing plans according to client specification and project requirements.
Collaborate closely with our design team to ensure designs are executed accurately.
Assist in the design and preparation of plans for new models and update existing models with an emphasis on value engineering.
Complete draft revisions within a standard time frame.
Prepare standard interior and exterior details.
Update base plans with plan changes.
Check all first drafts for completeness and accuracy.
Provide technical support for other departments

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural drafting, preferably in residential construction.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software.
Experience with creating detailed construction documents and understanding of residential building codes and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with precision.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of construction processes and techniques, as well as experience with value engineering.
Ability to interpret and incorporate topographical data into architectural designs.
A passion for residential design and a commitment to helping clients build their dream homes.
