Full Job Description

Patient Coordinator – Multi-Location Specialty Practice

We are currently seeking a Patient Coordinator to join our growing team, with an opening at our Southlake locations.

The ideal candidate is patient-focused, enjoys working in a team environment, is detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced medical office.

This is a busy specialty practice with multiple physicians, multiple audiologists, and 40+ employees across several locations.

Position Details

Full-time, Monday–Friday
Office hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of front office experience in a busy medical practice
Medical billing and insurance knowledge preferred
Medical Assistants with administrative/front office experience are welcome to apply
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Scheduling patient appointments, including inbound and outbound referral calls
Screening calls, taking messages, and assisting callers in accordance with established office policies and procedures
Greeting patients and managing check-in and check-out processes
Verifying insurance benefits and entering accurate patient demographic information
Handling the financial aspects of patient visits and procedures, including collecting co-pays, deductibles, and balances
Posting payments, charges as necessary, and balancing daily batches

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Minimum of high school graduation or GED.

Experience: Prefers two years work experience in a medical group setting. Computer experience and prior experience in dealing with managed health care entities required.

Skills: Knowledge of medical office procedures. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Skill in operating a computer, photocopier, calculator and other office machines. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to deal with insurance companies and managed care contractual arrangements on behalf of patients. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Basic mathematical skills required making calculations, balance and reconcile figures and make changes accurately. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic and numeric systems. Ability to maintain confidential patient information. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, employees, patients and the public. Ability to adapt to change in a very rapidly changing environment. Ability to work under pressure.
