Job Title: RN Med/Surg
Shift: 12 hours Days & Nights
Location: Marysville, CA

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in medical-surgical care! In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services to adult patients across a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Your expertise will ensure high-quality patient care, promote recovery, and support positive health outcomes. We are seeking energetic, compassionate professionals eager to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through skilled nursing and collaborative teamwork. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your clinical skills and dedication are truly valued.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform individualized care plans.
Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions.
Utilize advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with diagnostic procedures including IV insertions, catheterizations, phlebotomy, and specimen collection to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Manage complex patient needs such as acute pain management, ventilator support, tube feeding, and wound care including suturing and ostomy care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings like hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), telemetry units, or outpatient clinics to coordinate seamless patient care.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication administration, discharge instructions, and health coaching to promote ongoing wellness at home or in the community.

Skills

Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal or individuals with developmental disabilities.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and laboratory procedures for accurate documentation and diagnostic evaluation.
Skilled in aseptic technique, infection control practices, airway management, and critical care procedures such as trauma medicine or Level I/II trauma center protocols.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for efficient medical records management.
Ability to perform advanced nursing skills including IV infusion, catheter care, tube feeding management, and pain management techniques.
Experience working in specialized areas such as hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, case management activities, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
