Full Job Description

Purpose: The School/Community Coordinator works primarily, but not exclusively, with students, faculty, and parents to provide awareness and education about healthy relationships; assists and supports primary and secondary teen victims/survivors; promotes trust and communication during crisis, as well as provides support services to help them stabilize their lives after victimization. The School/Community advocate facilitates community engagement and education through community outreach.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

A. Responsible for providing advocacy services to program participants including but not limited to individualized safety planning, assessment of safety needs including protection orders and shelter assessments for adult and their children, supportive services, referrals, parenting and life skills information, emergency assistance, etc.

B. Responsible for creating a culture of empowerment and trauma-informed service delivery.

C. Responsible for answering crisis hotline and completing required documentation.

D. Responsible for creating a positive cultural environment of effective communication and teamwork throughout the agency where employees and volunteers find support, guidance, and successful opportunities to contribute.

E. Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of resources and services available in the communities served to assist survivors.

F. Responsible for networking with medical professionals, court officers, school personnel, law enforcement, clergy, and other professionals to encourage referrals.

G. Responsible for facilitating community awareness and education, while creating community networks.

H. Responsible for coordinating with school personnel to schedule all Safe Dates, In Their Shoes, and Safer, Smarter Teens lessons.

I. Responsible for updating and maintaining the Safe Dates and Safer, Smarter Teens curriculums.

J. Responsible for documenting all information regarding services as required by policy and protocol.

K. Responsible for maintaining contact with the school districts we serve by reaching out on a regular basis.

L. Responsible for keeping data and filing all the educational lessons we provide.

M. Responsible for teaching educational lessons in the Safe Dates, In Their Shoes, and Safer, Smarter Teens curriculum.

N. Setting up and updating MOU’s with all schools for data analysis.

O. Responsible for planning and working outreach events in the counties we serve.

P. Responsible for planning activities in the High Schools for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

Q. Assist with any other duties and attend meetings as requested by the DSVC Program Director.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
