Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Dietary Manager to oversee and coordinate the dietary services at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, team management skills, a comprehensive understanding of nutrition and dietetics, and experience working with diverse patient populations. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dietary department, develop care plans, and ensure the delivery of high-quality nutritional care tailored to individual needs. Candidates with a background in dietary department management, geriatrics, and healthcare are encouraged to apply.

Duties

Manage daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Develop, implement, and oversee personalized care plans focusing on nutritional needs and health goals
Assist with patient assessments to determine appropriate dietary interventions, including tube feeding and dietary evaluation when necessary
Supervise kitchen staff, providing leadership and training to maintain high standards of service
Monitor food preparation, portion control, and presentation to ensure quality and consistency
Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall patient care plans
Oversee budgeting, inventory management, and procurement of dietary supplies
Ensure documentation of dietary services aligns with regulatory requirements and best practices

Requirements

Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent credential
Proven management experience within a dietary department or healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living or long-term care facilities
Strong knowledge of nutrition, physiology, dietetics, and care planning processes
Supervising experience with kitchen staff or dietetic personnel
Familiarity with budgeting processes related to dietary services
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative environment
Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual health conditions

This position is integral in delivering compassionate nutritional care while leading a team dedicated to improving patient outcomes through expert management of dietary services.

Pay: $27.82 - $33.51 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
