Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead our assisted living community with passion, expertise, and a commitment to exceptional resident care. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee all nursing operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, maintaining high standards of clinical excellence, and fostering a compassionate environment for residents. Your leadership will inspire nursing staff, promote quality care delivery, and uphold the integrity of our care programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents’ lives while advancing your career in nursing administration.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction and oversight for all nursing services within the assisted living community, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
Supervise and mentor direct caregivers, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on resident-centered care.
Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, utilizing comprehensive assessments and medical records review.
Oversee documentation processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare standards.
Ensure all medical records are maintained in accordance with HIPAA regulations; review documentation for completeness and accuracy regularly.
Lead efforts in quality assurance initiatives, including audits of medical records and documentation review processes.
Stay current on healthcare policies affecting assisted living facilities, including Medicare regulations and reimbursement procedures.

Skills

Registered Nurse License active and in good standing in WA state
Extensive knowledge of assisted living operations
Proven management skills with supervising experience in a healthcare setting; ability to lead teams effectively while fostering professional growth.
Strong understanding of nursing administration principles, including nurse management practices and shift management strategies.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation, record keeping, and reporting purposes; ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
Deep knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the development of comprehensive care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs.
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff, manage conflicts constructively, and promote a positive work culture.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA compliance and state-specific assisted living standards.
Exceptional organizational skills for managing medical records review processes and ensuring documentation accuracy.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with residents’ families, healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and team members across disciplines.
