Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group (PREG), the largest network of fertility clinics in the Carolinas, seeks experienced, compassionate, and detail-oriented team players who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care to join our practice. The work we do building families offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward in a family-oriented environment.

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM, with the ability to work occasional weekend call as needed.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for:

Contacting new patients within 48 hours of their new patient visit and assisting with coordination of prescreening/testing in conjunction with physician orders
Providing patient education regarding clarification of physician instructions, medication instruction, and guidance under the supervision of the RN
Scheduling follow up visits with provider once all prescreening/testing is completed
Assigning patients to primary nurse after follow up visit with provider
Contacting patients after new patient visit for any lingering questions after follow up visit. If not converted to treatment, assist in identifying and removing barriers, if possible, to proceed with treatment
Documenting patient care services by charting in patient and department records, including the electronic medical record (EMR)
Receiving and disseminating lab results from outside laboratories to the patient's RN and/or physician for review and follow-up as necessary
Assisting the clinical team with daily results as needed; communicating results to patients via call-backs under the supervision of the RN
Generating and maintaining patient prescreening and testing checklists
Communicating with the financial coordinator to ensure authorizations are obtained prior to testing or starting a cycle; assisting with completing and routing insurance forms
Utilizing the scheduling system to manage the primary physician's schedule and scheduling patients
Communicating problems to the primary clinical team
Reviewing patient records for completion of prescreening paperwork
Sending Engaged MD consents and teaching modules to patients as needed
Assisting the team with correspondence and other administrative tasks as needed
Assisting the clinical team to resolve patient problems and needs
Communicating with other offices when a patient needs to be monitored or has procedures elsewhere
Assisting the physician with vital signs, weight, and height
Assisting the provider/RN during examinations and procedures including IUIs, endometrial biopsies, ultrasounds and OR circulation
Preparing samples and specimens, completing accompanying paperwork, and ensuring lab specimens are sent to the proper labs
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
Other duties as needed

What You'll Bring:

The skills and education we need are:

High school graduate required with 1 year experience in a medical or healthcare setting required
Medical Assistant certification required
Current CPR certification required, or acquired within 1 month of IVF location assignment
Women's health experience preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of electronic medical record software
Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (computer, fax, copier, etc.)
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
Ability to demonstrate good judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
Excellent interpersonal skills and patient orientation
Ability to work independently to manage a caseload of patients
Polished and professional image
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Detail oriented
