Full Job Description

Charbonneau Country Club (CCC) is a homeowners association located in the Charbonneau district of Wilsonville, Oregon, just south of Portland. The association encompasses 1627 residential units, including single family homes, condominiums, townhomes, an assisted-living center, and apartments. Charbonneau is a planned-unit development with a 27-hole golf course, two community centers, sports center, marina, rv lot, commercial/business center, restaurants, and a variety of recreational activities.

Job Summary:

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance across all country club facilities and grounds. This role ensures that buildings, amenities, and equipment are safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard that supports an exceptional member and guest experience. The Technician will work independently and collaboratively with contractors to maintain clubhouse facilities, dining areas, kitchens, sports center, fitness areas, pool facilities, and outdoor common spaces.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Perform general building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and minor repairs.
Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve issues proactively. Maintain a maintenance checklist and repair schedule.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from management and staff.
Maintain and repair kitchen equipment, fitness equipment, irrigation components, and other club-related machinery as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to determine root causes of malfunctions.
Maintain lighting systems, replace bulbs/ballasts, and repair fixtures.
Assist members and groups with minor support needs including limited equipment and furniture assistance, basic audio/visual technical support and general assistance as requested.
Maintain outdoor areas including walkways, patios, fencing, waste and general grounds support (excluding golf course turf maintenance).
Empty outdoor garbage bins, stock dog waste bag stations.
Ensure compliance with Oregon building codes, OSHA standards, and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order documentation.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
Participate in emergency response procedures, including after-hours call rotation if required.
Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred. Minimum of 2–3 years of general maintenance experience in hospitality, country club, resort, hotel, or commercial facilities preferred. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems. Basic understanding of pool systems and irrigation systems preferred.

Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the job.

Valid Oregon driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass background screening.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Understanding of workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to urgent maintenance issues.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with members, guests, and staff.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic computer skills for work order systems and communication.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a hospitality environment.

Physical & Work Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions common to Oregon, including rain, heat, and cold temperatures.
Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools safely.
Visual acuity to inspect equipment and perform detailed repair work.
Ability to hear and respond to alarms and mechanical sounds.
Exposure to mechanical equipment, chemicals (cleaning agents, pool chemicals), and standard maintenance hazards.
Fast-paced hospitality environment requiring professionalism and member-focused service.

Compensation

The Charbonneau Country Club offers a competitive hourly salary $21.00 to $29.00 per hour DOE.

Part-time approximately 20 hours per week. Typical hours are Monday – Friday afternoons with possible flexible work hours depending on club operational needs.
