Legal Assistant:

This position serves under our Portland shareholder's and Associate Attorney's. It is a role that features first-hand experience in litigation, litigation preparation, and conflict resolution.

Our ideal candidate is curious, hard-working, quick on their feet, and eager to serve our clients. This is an excellent role for someone wanting to learn more about the law and perhaps interested in law school. 1-4 years of relevant experience is preferable but not required. In this position, you will be integral to the smooth operation of our law firm, and you will ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of our office.

Key working factors to consider:

Your primary base is our Portland office.
Our firm operates with urgency, candor, and resilience to appropriately work through high pressure situations with grace and ease.
We leave nothing to chance and have processes in place to guide you.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Primary work tasks include:

Litigation and mediation preparation
Discovery processing
Drafting Court pleadings and day-to-day correspondences
Oral and written communication with attorneys, judicial staff, and clients
Assisting potential new clients as a dedicated client intake specialist and helping to schedule consultations
Filing and serving Court pleadings
Notarial services
Calendar management
Tracking and reporting billable time
Varied administrative support as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Excellent oral and written communication
Natural talent for staying organized and productive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
Superior attention to detail
Ability to anticipate what is needed and be proactive
Enthusiastic about teamwork

Intake Specialist:

Our team seeks a dedicated Intake Specialist with 1+ years of relevant experience preferred to join our Portland, Oregon office. In this position, you are commonly the first point of contact that clients have when they are calling to reach out for help with a family law issue. You will be integral to the smooth operation of our law firm, and you will ensure that potential new client inquiries are handled with care, precision, and organization, so that when people with real world problems need an attorney to help them, we find them the best fit that SKH has to offer.

Our ideal candidate is curious, empathetic, hard-working, quick on their feet, and eager to serve our clients.

Key Working Factors to consider:

Primary work tasks include:

Client Interaction: Professionally managing high-volume calls and emails, obtaining case details, and answering initial questions. Then, when clients visit the office for their appointment, meeting the client, arranging appropriate paperwork, and coordinating the initial handoff to the legal team.

Operational Integrity: Performing critical conflict checks and ensuring potential clients fit the firm’s specific legal expertise and requirements.
Administrative/Legal Support: Drafting retainer agreements and coordinating with shareholders to manage client materials.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in related field.
1+ years experience in client services in a law firm environment (preferred)
Prior client intake management experience is preferred
Client-centric soft-skills including emotional intelligence, attention to detail and effective, detailed communication.
Natural talent for staying organized and productive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
Superior attention to detail.
Ability to anticipate what is needed and be proactive.
Ability to adapt and act quickly while remaining professional.
Professional attire and demeanor.
Ability to maintain highest levels of confidentiality with client and firm information.
