Connecticut Shoreline Area

$25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Contract-to-Hire

An established Connecticut employer is seeking an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Coordinator. This position requires someone who can step into the role, work independently, and handle payroll, certified payroll, and accounts payable responsibilities with minimal training.

Required Experience

To be considered, candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with:
Processing payroll
Preparing and submitting certified payroll
Managing accounts payable
Working independently with minimal supervision
Maintaining accurate payroll and financial records
Certified payroll experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and according to established deadlines.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and supporting documentation.
Process accounts payable transactions, invoices, and payments.
Assist with accounts receivable and additional accounting functions as needed.
Maintain complete and accurate payroll, accounting, and employee records.
Review documentation for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Manage multiple priorities while meeting payroll and payment deadlines.
Provide general accounting and administrative support to the office.

Qualifications

Previous payroll, certified payroll, and accounts payable experience is required.
Ability to perform the primary responsibilities with minimal training.
Strong understanding of payroll and accounting processes.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn company-specific systems.
Professional and dependable approach to work.
Candidates with experience as a Certified Payroll Specialist, Payroll Coordinator, Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist, Accounting Coordinator, Bookkeeper, or Construction Payroll Specialist are encouraged to apply.

What We Offer

$25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
Contract-to-hire opportunity
