Full Job Description

Tax Accountant

Location: Greater Milwaukee Area

Compensation: $70,000–90,000

About the Company

We’re partnering with a well-established professional services firm that is continuing to grow and invest in its accounting and tax teams. This group operates in a collaborative environment, working closely with leadership and clients to deliver high-quality financial and tax solutions.

About the Role

This Tax Associate will play a key role in supporting a variety of tax engagements, with a focus on individual tax work. You’ll partner directly with senior team members and leadership, gaining strong exposure to client-facing responsibilities while contributing to overall team development and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual tax returns, with exposure to other entity types as needed
Support tax planning and compliance efforts across a diverse client base
Assist with research on tax regulations and application to client situations
Collaborate with senior staff and leadership on client deliverables and deadlines
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable standards
Assist with general accounting or financial reporting support as needed
Contribute to process improvements and support special projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Relevant accounting experience, ideally within public accounting or tax-focused environments
Exposure to individual tax returns and related compliance work
Experience with tax software and proficiency in Excel
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Experience

Experience working with individual clients and high-net-worth returns is a plus
Exposure to partnerships or corporate returns is beneficial but not required
CPA eligibility or progress toward certification is a plus
Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies
