Full Job Description

Function: To provide oversight for the overall operations and supports of the agency’s group homes for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including direct supervisory responsibility, case management, and direct care components.

Potential PTO - 26 days
Potential Sick Time - 10 days
Calendar Holidays - 12 days

Responsibilities:

Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates three (3) residential managers for a minimum of three (3) group homes.
Establish and maintain a transparent, productive, and supportive culture of accountability, collaboration, and inclusion for residential managers and programs.
Models therapeutic behaviors and helps staff to understand their own triggers and responses to individuals’ behaviors;
Ensures a therapeutic environment is maintained and staff focus on each individuals’ strengths and resiliencies;
Is responsible for maintaining the level of service of the group home;
Ensures compliance with all licensing and documentation requirements for the Division of Developmental Disabilities and Children’s System of Care as applicable;
Provide weekly updates, plan interventions, trainings and monitor program goals;
Provides leadership at monthly staff meetings, ISP (individual support plan), interdisciplinary team (IDT), and other related meetings;
Is responsible for utilization review/quality assurance (UR/QA) in group homes and insures compliance with State Licensing and Council on Accreditation (COA) requirements;
Reviews house schedules and monitors overtime;
Reviews the daily logs, medication logs, communication log, activity sheets, and incident reports at least once every 72 hours to identify any errors, problems, trends, or issues which require intervention.
Works with the facilities director and the residential managers to arrange for all day-to-day and emergency repairs to house as well as to vehicles;
Rotates on-call coverage with designated staff;
Provides coverage to program in the absence of residential managers including supervision to all direct support professionals;
Completes all Department of Human Services (DHS) required trainings and continues to improve skills through the College of Direct Support (CDS), the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center and other training opportunities;
Successfully completes and demonstrates proficiency in all areas of required training;
Cooperates with Licensing, licensee and Department of Human Services (DHS/DDD) staff with any and all inspections and/or investigations;
Completes monthly reports and submits to senior vice-president, disability support services; and
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum of a High School diploma with four (4) years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in children’s out of home care or group home a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to provide overall leadership in the group homes program and also works as an integral team member.
Excellent management and organizational skills.
Valid Basic drivers’ license and good driving history.
Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.
Must cooperate with the licensee, Department of Human Services (DHS) staff, Department of Children and Families (DCF) staff and any and all state representatives in any inspection or investigation.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural diversity issues.
Ability to work effectively with people of various backgrounds and races.
Ability to work effectively with clients, including intervention and relationship building skills.
