Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Perioperative Registered Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and surgical success. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures within a fast-paced, state-of-the-art operating room environment. Your energy, attention to detail, and compassionate approach will help ensure seamless perioperative experiences for our diverse patient population. We are committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere that values professional growth and excellence in patient care.

Duties

Valid unencumbered Louisiana nursing license.
Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and ensuring proper consent documentation.
Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Monitor patient vital signs and physiological status continuously throughout the perioperative process.
Administer medications including IV infusions, and injections with precision and safety.
Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate smooth operations.
Manage post-operative recovery by evaluating patient status, and providing comprehensive discharge instructions.
Document all patient care activities meticulously in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse in perioperative settings or operating rooms with familiarity in OR procedures and aseptic techniques.
Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire at applicant expense.
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are welcome to apply and will work within their scope of practice with salary starting at $22/hour.
Must pass background check and drug screening.
