3D Print Farm Technician / AssistantAbout Us

Prime Tools LLC is a fast-growing e-commerce and live-selling company selling tools, accessories, and unique products through platforms such as TikTok Shop, Whatnot, Amazon, and other online channels.

We are rapidly expanding our 3D printing operation and are looking for a 3D Print Farm Technician / Assistant to help support our Print Farm Manager and keep daily production running efficiently.

Our print farm currently consists of more than 30 Bambu Lab printers and is expected to grow to 75+ printers in the near future, with continued expansion planned.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys 3D printing, working with their hands, problem-solving, and being part of a fast-growing operation.

Position Overview

The 3D Print Farm Technician will work directly with our Print Farm Manager to assist with the day-to-day operation of our growing print farm.

This is a hands-on production position. You will be responsible for helping start and monitor prints, removing completed products, resetting printers, inspecting print quality, performing basic maintenance, organizing finished products, and keeping the print farm clean and efficient.

You do not need to be an expert in 3D printing, but prior experience is strongly preferred. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable learning new equipment, and able to stay productive throughout their shift.

Responsibilities

Operate and assist with a growing farm of Bambu Lab 3D printers
Start, monitor, remove, and reset prints throughout the day
Remove completed prints and prepare printers for the next production run
Inspect finished prints for defects or quality issues
Identify and report failed prints or printer problems
Assist with troubleshooting basic issues such as failed prints, clogs, bed adhesion problems, filament issues, and printer errors
Perform routine printer cleaning and basic preventative maintenance
Change filament and refill printer materials as needed
Keep printers supplied and production moving efficiently
Organize completed products by SKU, color, batch, or project
Trim, clean, or perform minor finishing work on printed products when necessary
Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing products for inventory or sale
Help track filament, printer parts, and other production supplies
Maintain a clean and organized print farm
Follow production schedules and priorities established by the Print Farm Manager
Communicate printer failures, supply shortages, or production problems quickly
Assist with testing new prints, products, colors, and materials
Help improve the overall speed and efficiency of the production process
Perform other print farm and production-related tasks as needed

Qualifications

Previous 3D printing experience is strongly preferred
Experience with Bambu Lab printers is a major plus
Familiarity with Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Cura, PrusaSlicer, or similar software is helpful
Basic understanding of common 3D printing problems and troubleshooting is preferred
Strong attention to detail
Reliable and able to consistently show up on time
Comfortable performing repetitive production tasks while maintaining quality
Able to manage several printers or tasks at once
Organized and able to follow established procedures
Comfortable working independently after training
Willing to learn and take direction from the Print Farm Manager
Interest in 3D printing, manufacturing, tools, e-commerce, or product development is a plus
Basic CAD or 3D modeling experience is a plus but not required

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate may already own or use a 3D printer at home and is interested in turning that hobby into a part-time job.

You don't need to know everything about 3D printing. We care more about finding someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and takes pride in doing things correctly.

Because this is a production environment, we need someone who notices problems rather than walking past them. If a printer fails, filament runs low, or a product doesn't look right, we expect our technicians to recognize it and either correct the issue or bring it to the Print Farm Manager's attention.

There is significant opportunity to learn as the print farm continues expanding, and strong performers may have opportunities for additional hours and responsibility over time.

Schedule

Part-Time: 24–32 hours per week

Schedule may have some flexibility depending on availability and the needs of the print farm.

Additional hours may occasionally be available as production volume increases.

Compensation

$18–$22 per hour, depending on experience and 3D printing knowledge.

Opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement may become available as the print farm continues to grow.
