STRIVE Initiatives is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated professional to serve as our Part-Time Housing Case Manager & Life Skills Coordinator. This position combines housing case management through the HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) program with the coordination and facilitation of our weekly Life Skills Program.
The successful candidate will work closely with justice-impacted individuals to secure and maintain stable housing while coordinating educational workshops that promote long-term self-sufficiency. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to build lasting relationships with community partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Housing Case Management (Approximately 60%)
- Provide comprehensive housing case management services to assigned participants.
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized housing plans, and maintain regular contact with participants.
- Assist participants in locating safe, affordable housing that meets HUD and program guidelines.
- Review leases with participants prior to signing and attend lease signings as appropriate.
- Complete housing affordability calculations and establish participant budgets.
- Conduct housing inspections before move-in and monitor ongoing housing stability.
- Coordinate supportive services including employment, transportation, healthcare, behavioral health, education, and financial literacy.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete case documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HUD Continuum of Care requirements and organizational policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and community partners.
- Assist participants with budgeting, savings plans, and increasing financial independence.
- Prepare reports and documentation required by grant funders and organizational leadership.
Life Skills Program Coordination (Approximately 40%)
- Coordinate STRIVE's weekly Life Skills Program held every Tuesday evening in York and Wednesday mornings (currently).
- Recruit, schedule, and maintain relationships with community presenters and partner organizations.
- Conduct outreach to identify new educational opportunities and community resources.
- Develop the annual and monthly Life Skills calendar.
- Facilitate workshops when guest presenters are unavailable.
- Track attendance and participant engagement.
- Coordinate classroom logistics, materials, incentives, and evaluations.
- Collaborate with STRIVE staff to ensure participants receive appropriate referrals and follow-up services.
- Promote Life Skills programming throughout the community.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of two years of housing case management or human services experience.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable conducting community outreach and developing partnerships.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel throughout York County.
Preferred
- Experience with HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) programs or other HUD-funded housing programs.
- Knowledge of HMIS or similar case management software.
- Experience facilitating educational groups or workshops.
- Experience working with justice-impacted individuals.
- Knowledge of local housing resources and community service providers.
- Grant-funded program experience.

Schedule Requirements
- Maximum 30 hours per week.
- Flexible daytime schedule.
- Currently: Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning availability is required for Life Skills programming.
- Occasional evening community meetings or outreach events may be required.
Pay: From $22.50 per hour
